Nine days before Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, political expert Valentyn Gladkikh stated on air that the likelihood of a large-scale war was low. An archived video of the statement was released by former MP and officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ihor Lapin.

This is reported by “Censor.NET” .

It is noted that the video contains a fragment of the broadcast from February 15, 2022, during which Gladkih expressed doubt about the possibility of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The political scientist suggested that a scenario of large-scale hostilities is unlikely.

“Does anyone really believe that the Russians will raise strategic aviation and strike Kyiv, Kharkiv, or the Dnieper? I can’t believe it,” said Valentyn Gladkikh.

Also during the broadcast, the expert made assumptions about possible actions of the occupation forces in the event of the capture of Ukrainian cities. According to him, part of the population could be subjected to persecution or restrictions.

“Some will be arrested. Repression will be used against some. Some may be driven to Babyn Yar and even shot. This is cynical, I say it harshly. But the majority of the population will simply be driven to work, pay taxes, change something there and life will go on as it should,” he added.
