On Monday, March 9, Spanish Air Force fighter jets intercepted two military aircraft belonging to Russia.

This was reported by NATO Air Command.

As noted, Spanish fighter jets from an air base in Lithuania have begun patrolling the airspace of the Baltic region as part of Operation Eastern Sentinel.

In the process, two Russian Su-24 bombers were detected flying in international airspace near NATO borders.

“The aircraft intercepted and escorted two Su-24D aircraft of the Russian Air Force,” the alliance command informed.

As a reminder, on October 28, Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian plane that was in the airspace over the Baltic Sea.

Earlier , five Russian aircraft were spotted over the Baltic Sea . NATO urgently scrambled its fighter jets for protection.

By the way, Estonia stated that three Russian MiG-31 fighters violated its airspace and were there for 12 minutes.
