Speed control is being tightened: TruCAMs have started operating in 14 more areas

In Ukraine, starting today, patrol police began using TruCAM devices on 14 new sections of roads and streets in settlements.

This is reported by the Patrol Police of Ukraine.

TruCAM is used primarily in the same areas where automatic speed cameras are already in operation. Combined control increases the effectiveness of speed enforcement.

The places where the devices will be used were determined taking into account the accident rate – in dangerous areas and in places where accidents caused by speeding are concentrated.

TruCAM is temporarily not used in regions where active hostilities are ongoing, in particular in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. At the same time, in Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson regions, the devices are operating in separate safe areas.

Taking into account martial law and accident analysis, the police added 14 new sections and made changes to 6 existing ones. In total, 160 TruCAM devices will operate on Ukrainian roads, and speed control will be carried out at 335 sections.

The police emphasize that road signs about photo and video recording are installed in places where TruCAM is used, and patrol cars with blue flashing lights are in a visible place.

Law enforcement officers remind that speeding remains one of the main causes of road accidents, and following traffic rules saves lives.

It was previously reported that during the period of martial law, military police will receive expanded powers.
