Spying while posing as a woman: court sentences Russian agent

A Russian agent who spied in the Odessa region while posing as a woman was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

This was reported by the SBU press center.

As the investigation established, a 26-year-old man, posing as a woman, was trying to establish the coordinates of targets for enemy strikes in the southern region.

To do this, the defendant grew long hair, used cosmetics, and wore women’s clothing.

According to the intelligence service, the enemy was most interested in the facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service, the National Guard, and border guards. The agent passed the collected coordinates to the Russian curator.

“The security service detained the traitor in January of this year at his place of residence. During the search, three phones were seized from him, which he used to collect intelligence and contact the curator,” the report says.

The court found the defendant guilty of treason based on evidence collected and documented by SBU officers.

As a reminder, the SBU detained two Russian informants who “leaked” to the occupiers the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Sloviansk and spied on the echelons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
