“While Russia terrorizes civilians, the Ukrainian sky rests on the shoulders of these people. Today, Sumy region, without exaggeration, protects the entire country from missiles and drones. And our task is to be there and help them in this,” Poroshenko emphasizes.
Standing in the way of “shaheeds”: Poroshenko handed over aid to the military who protect the skies of Sumy region
Petro Poroshenko handed over a car, generators, and charging stations to the military of the 636th separate anti-aircraft battalion, which controls the skies over Sumy Oblast. Anti-aircraft gunners stop enemy “shaheeds” around the clock, which fly across the border into Sumy Oblast to further terrorize the entire country.
“In recent days, our team has been helping Kyiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhia eliminate the consequences of Russian strikes. We purchased generators, charging stations, gas burners — everything so that people have light and warmth. We convened an extraordinary session of the Kyiv City Council, sought solutions for the capital, and demanded clear answers when the light will finally be restored to Kyiv residents. Today, we continue our constant work for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the fifth President wrote on social media .
“Working in Sumy region means protecting not only the region, but the entire country. It is from here that enemy drones, if not stopped, fly further – to our cities and villages,” Poroshenko explains.
“Unfortunately, the state is still not able to fully cover the needs of air defense. Large systems depend on the help of partners, and anti-aircraft guns and mobile groups often survive thanks to volunteers. Just imagine, the guys are standing in cold fields every day at minus 15. Therefore, for the group that works with interceptor drones, we have prepared and are transferring a car, generators, and charging stations to provide them with at least minimal conditions for service,” the fifth President writes.
