Starmer called Putin’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy system “vile”

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer had a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which they discussed Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

This was reported by the British Prime Minister’s office.

The statement noted that the leaders also discussed the general situation in Ukraine and “Russia’s brutal attacks on the country that took place overnight.”

“The Prime Minister added that Putin’s brutal attacks on critical national infrastructure, including energy systems, were particularly vile as temperatures dropped below -20°C,” the post said.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the introduction of a state of emergency in Ukraine’s energy sector.
