Starodubtseva reached the 1/8 finals of the WTA tournament in Charleston

Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva reached the round of 16 of the WTA 500 tournament in Charleston.

In the second round match, the Ukrainian beat the representative of Georgia, Ekaterina Gorgodze, who entered the main draw as a lucky loser.

Starodubtseva started the game poorly and lost the first set – 3:6. However, the Ukrainian then seized the initiative and confidently won the next two games – 6:1, 6:2.

The match lasted 1 hour and 46 minutes. The Ukrainian converted 7 of 14 break points and showed the best game on the first serve.

In the round of 16, Starodubtseva will play against Mexican Renata Sarasua.
