State child benefit: how to receive payments

On Wednesday, March 4, payments of “child benefit” began in Ukraine. Special accounts for receiving these funds can already be opened at Oschadbank.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.

“Funds under the e-Nursery program are starting to arrive for 1,370 people,” Svyridenko wrote.

It is noted that the payment is 8 thousand hryvnias per month when the mother, father or guardian goes to work, after the child turns 1 year old. The funds can be used to pay for a nanny, assistant or kindergarten.

Payments for up to 1 year have already been transferred to over 46 thousand families.

“Since the beginning of this year, the monthly allowance for caring for a child under 1 year old is 7 thousand hryvnias,” Svyrydenko added.

The government is working to expand the possibilities for submitting applications, including through Diya.

“Receiving childcare assistance should be as simple, understandable, and convenient as possible for families,” the Prime Minister noted.

There are also other payments: assistance in connection with pregnancy and childbirth and 50 thousand hryvnias at the birth of a child.

Recall that since March 1, 2026, a number of decisions have come into effect in Ukraine, relating to pensions, social support for military families, cash circulation, National Cashback, and other areas.

As reported, disability pensions in Ukraine have increased since January 1, 2026 due to an increase in the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work . The new figure will be 2,595 hryvnias, which will affect minimum pension payments and state benefits.
