Statement by “European Solidarity”: the Russian plan is unacceptable in any form
“European Solidarity” stated that the “28 points” published in the media look like a Russian trap. The party demands answers as to who from Ukraine tried to agree on this and whether they had the right to do so.
Statement of “European Solidarity”
This is a moment when history does not allow for mistakes. Every word, every gesture of the Ukrainian state is now being read by the world under a microscope. That is why it is necessary to say frankly and diplomatically clearly: the so-called 28 points that have appeared in the media look like a well-thought-out trap. And the trap is not just technical or procedural – it is a political, geopolitical, and most importantly – Russian trap. This is visible to the naked eye to anyone who is able to measure the risks, and not just read the headlines.
The only question that worries society and partners today is: who from Ukraine tried to “agree” this at all? And did they have the authority to do so? After all, there were assumptions in the press that this document could have passed through the office of the NSDC secretary. If this is true, it is not just a mistake. This is going beyond the mandate and a blow to international trust in Ukraine.
The composition of the negotiating team in Geneva looks no less alarming. Today, we are represented there by people who appear in the high-profile materials of the “Mindić tapes” – in a case that has become a symbol of how corruption tries to survive even during a major war. This significantly weakens Ukraine’s position at a time when we need firmness, transparency, and an impeccable reputation from each member of the delegation. It seems that someone decided to use the negotiation process not to protect the country, but as a political umbrella to hide from responsibility.
These things cannot be mixed up. Diplomacy is the power of the state. And that is why it cannot be held hostage to fears, personal interests, or attempts to avoid punishment. Ukraine must clearly distinguish between two planes:
- negotiations should be conducted by strong, experienced, and impeccably trusted negotiators;
- and everyone who was involved in corruption should be held accountable — regardless of position, connections, or political fears.
We emphasize once again: the Russian plan is unacceptable in any form. The Ukrainian peace plan must be shared with Europe, agreed upon with allies, built on the principles of international law and on those red lines that are not subject to negotiation – our territories, our army, our language, our faith, our freedom.
Negotiations should take place with the participation of European partners and without any presence of individuals tainted by corruption scandals.
Today we ask the world to stand by democratic values. But for the world to hear us, we ourselves must demonstrate an impeccable commitment to these values. This is the only way to a strong negotiating position.
