Statement by the European Solidarity Party on the suspension of the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline

US President Donald Trump’s call for European countries to stop importing Russian oil requires support from Ukraine. After all, it is our state that has a key lever of influence — the Druzhba transit oil pipeline, through which Russia still supplies oil to the European Union.

“European Solidarity” is convinced that stopping the transit of Russian oil will be Ukraine’s most powerful contribution to the common struggle of the civilized world against the aggressor. This decision will not only reduce the Kremlin’s resources for war, but will also confirm that Ukraine is capable of taking on the role of a leader in shaping sanctions policy. What we are primarily interested in.

In 2024, about 300,000 barrels of oil were pumped through Druzhba every day, bringing Russia over $7 billion a year. Every day of Druzhba’s operation meant about $20 million for Moscow — money that was converted into missiles on Ukrainian cities, drones against our soldiers, and the deaths of civilians. Ukraine cannot remain an intermediary in financing a project of its own destruction.

This absurdity cannot continue. The Ukrainian parliament must adopt a decision to completely stop the transit of Russian oil through our territory. At the same time, Ukraine must maintain close coordination with our European partners and the United States so that joint actions have the strongest possible effect.

The Armed Forces have already stopped the work of “Druzhba” several times, but a systemic political decision is needed – to shut it down and preserve it. Period.
