Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Minister of Justice Olga Stefanishyna will be appointed as Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States.
This was reported by People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
“Olga Stefanishyna is leaving as ambassador to the United States,” the deputy wrote.
Previously, this position was linked to Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, however, according to Zheleznyak, he will remain in Ukraine and will likely move to work for the National Security and Defense Council.
“However, it is currently unclear whether this will be the position of secretary, deputy, or simply another advisor to the president,” the People’s Deputy noted.
Zheleznyak also added that Umerov’s candidacy did not receive approval from Washington, so his appointment did not take place.
The procedure for appointing an ambassador takes time, as it involves approval by both parties and passing formal stages.
In turn, Stefanishyna noted on Facebook that she plans to pay more attention to her family in the coming months, but did not specify whether this is related to her possible personnel rotation.
We will remind, the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, told what the composition of the renewed Cabinet of Ministers will be.
As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed documents to the Verkhovna Rada on the appointment of Denys Shmyhal to the position of Minister of Defense.
