The European Commission is strengthening the bloc’s defense preparedness and proposing the creation of a “Military Schengen Area” to simplify the process of moving troops, equipment, and military assets across all EU countries.

This is stated on the European Commission website.

By creating a pan-European military mobility zone, the EU will make the transit of soldiers and military equipment faster, safer, and more coordinated.

The plan is planned to be implemented by 2027.

In particular, it proposes to eliminate regulatory barriers, create an emergency response system, and strengthen management and coordination.

In addition, it is about increasing the resilience of transportation infrastructure — modernizing key military mobility corridors and protecting strategic infrastructure — and pooling and sharing capabilities.

The European Commission will soon propose a new regulation on military mobility to the Council of the EU and the European Parliament for adoption in accordance with the legislative procedure.

As a reminder, the European Commission is working on creating the so-called “military Schengen” – a common system that will allow soldiers, equipment, and ammunition to be quickly moved across the territory of EU countries without bureaucratic delays.

It was previously reported that the EU has begun active preparations for a potential war with Russia — the European Commission has developed a plan to prepare countries for combat readiness by 2030.

As you know, the European Commission has proposed four defense projects , according to which the EU plans to resist Russian aggression.
