Germany plans to transfer more than 30 mobile thermal power plants to Ukraine in the near future, which will provide electricity and heat for part of the population.

This was stated by the German Ambassador to Ukraine, Heiko Thoms, in an interview with Suspilny .

He emphasized that the shelling that the Russian army carries out every night is a war crime that the Russian Federation commits to terrorize the civilian population.

“You need support now, and you will get it. I believe that we are already the largest partner in the energy sector. We provide not only generators or energy storage systems, but in some places also transport for repair work in the energy sector. Now we are also transferring 33 mobile power plants — combined heat and power plants,” the official said.

Heiko Toms explained that tens of thousands of people will be able to receive electricity and heat thanks to one such station.

“These 33 installations have the potential to provide electricity to millions of people in Ukraine. The challenge is to connect them — just like with generators — but we will work together to do this as quickly as possible,” he concluded.

Previously, five countries volunteered to help Ukraine’s energy sector , in particular, three states will transfer equipment, and two more will allocate funds.

As is known, the Lithuanian authorities have decided to provide assistance to the Ukrainian energy sector and transfer about a hundred generators to Ukraine.
