The Security Service and the Prosecutor General’s Office reported in absentia the suspicion of the Russian general who in July 2024 commanded a missile strike on the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

Military counterintelligence and investigators of the Security Service have documented new war crimes committed by the commander of the Russian long-range aviation, Sergei Kuvaldin.

In particular, on July 8, 2024, he gave the order to attack “Okhmatdyt” using a Kh-101 cruise missile, as a result of which two people were killed and dozens more were injured.

“At the time of the enemy attack, Kuvaldin held the position of First Deputy Commander – Chief of Staff of Long-Range Aviation of the Russian Air Force. Shortly after the missile strike on Okhmatdyt, the racist received a “promotion” and was appointed commander of long-range aviation of the armed groups of the aggressor country,” the SBU emphasized.

Based on the evidence gathered, the Russian military officer was suspected of committing a war crime that resulted in the deaths of people. Comprehensive measures are currently underway to bring Kuvaldin to justice.

As a reminder, on July 8, the Russian Federation launched a missile strike on the capital’s children’s hospital “Okhmatdyt” . One of the hospital buildings was completely destroyed and several buildings were damaged.
