Strike on Ternopil: the number of victims has increased to 16, people are being searched under the rubble
On the night of November 19, Russia carried out a large-scale strike on Ukraine, using more than 470 drones and 48 missiles of various types, including ballistic and cruise missiles.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that residential areas and critical infrastructure were under fire. In Ternopil, 16 people were killed, including children, and 64 others were injured, including 14 children. Some buildings caught fire and suffered serious damage, and people may be trapped under the rubble.
There were also attacks on Kharkiv, where dozens of people were injured, transport communications and energy facilities were damaged. In Ivano-Frankivsk region, energy facilities were attacked, three people were injured, including two children. In Lviv region, critical energy facilities were hit, and isolated attacks were recorded in Donetsk, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv and Dnipro regions.
Zelenskyy called on the world to increase pressure on Russia and help Ukraine increase its defense capabilities. He said the priority is air defense missiles, additional combat aircraft, and drones that can protect civilian lives and stop attacks.
“Russia must be held accountable for its actions, and we must maximize our defense capabilities to shoot down missiles and neutralize drones of the aggressor,” the president emphasized.
Official data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office confirm: 16 people were killed and 64 were injured in Ternopil, including 14 children.
As a reminder, on the night of November 19 , Russian troops carried out a series of strikes on the western regions of Ukraine, in particular on Ternopil and Lviv regions.
In addition, on the night of November 19, Russian troops carried out a massive drone attack on Kharkiv, which injured more than three dozen civilians, including two children.
