On Sunday, August 10, a series of explosions were heard in the Russian republic of Komi, likely due to drone strikes targeting a local oil refinery.

This was reported by Russian Telegram channels.

“At least one drone attacked the LLC LUKOIL-Ukhtanaftopereboksa enterprise in the Komi Republic,” the report says.

According to preliminary data, a fuel tank was punctured on the territory of the Ukhta Oil Refinery, which belongs to Lukoil, but there was no fire.

It is noted that after the impact, firefighters and law enforcement officers were near the enterprise. They blocked the road and did not let local residents through.

Also, as it became known, the airport in Ukhta has been temporarily closed, and police are working at the entrance to the city, stopping cars and conducting searches.

In addition, local residents complain about problems with electricity supply and internet outages.

Subsequently, sources from Suspilny confirmed the strike, emphasizing that GUR drones first hit an oil refinery in Komi, located more than two thousand kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

The attack damaged a tank with petroleum products, a gas and condensate processing plant.

As a reminder, on the night of August 10 , the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Saratov Oil Refinery .
