Strikes on Ozon and Wildberries: Russian marketplaces almost doubled commissions for sellers

Russian marketplaces have dramatically increased commissions and logistics costs for sellers. On key platforms, total costs already exceed 40% of the cost of goods, which leads to higher prices for buyers.

This was reported by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

In Q2 2026, commissions and logistics on Ozon averaged 47.8% of the cost of goods, and for FBO sellers the load reached 55%. On Wildberries, costs increased to 42.7%, and on Yandex Market – to 40.1%.

Over the past 2 years, sellers’ total costs for commissions and logistics have increased by 58–63%. At the same time, average business profitability has fallen from approximately 15% to 5%, and in some categories, trade has become unprofitable.

The increase in costs has already affected prices. Marketplaces are cutting discounts, and in some categories, prices have risen by up to 15% in six months. After discounts were eliminated, the average price increase was about 30%.

Marketplaces are preparing a new tariff increase in the second half of 2026. According to market participants, the total burden on sellers may increase by another 15–25% over the next year.

As a result, sellers are forced to raise prices or reduce activities, while buyers are faced with higher prices for goods.

As a reminder, on the night of August 22, the Ukrainian Defense Forces firststruck the logistics hub of the Ozon marketplace in Chapayevsk, Samara Oblast, Russia . After the strike, a large-scale fire broke out at the facility.

As reported, on the night of August 24, drone attacks on large logistics facilities were reported in several regions of Russia. In Dagestan, an Ozon warehouse caught fire after the strike, in Krasnodar, a Kuchenland Home warehouse, and a fire was also reported near an Ozon warehouse in the Stavropol Territory.

By the way, shares of the Russian marketplace Ozon fell by 28% on August 24 after a series of attacks on the company’s logistics facilities in several regions of Russia . After the sharp drop, trading in Ozon shares on the Moscow Exchange was suspended.
