Strikes were launched on Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions: SBU detained two FSB agents in frontline regions

Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine has detained two FSB agents who were passing on to the enemy the coordinates of Ukrainian facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions. The attackers helped Russia strike at air defense positions and locations of Ukrainian troops.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

The investigation established that both agents had a common supervisor from the FSB, but operated in different regions. The main task of the suspects was to identify air defense combat positions and temporary basing facilities of the Defense Forces.

Among those detained is the head of security at one of the leading universities in Dnipro, who was recruited by Russian special services through a relative living in Russia and cooperating with the FSB.

To carry out the tasks, the Dnipro resident enlisted the help of his acquaintance, the head of the water supply department in the city of Hulyaipole, Zaporizhia region. This allowed him to move near the line of combat contact and collect the necessary data.

During the airstrikes, both agents traveled around the area in their own cars and recorded the work of Ukrainian air defense. They also tried to obtain information from local residents about the locations of Ukrainian military bases and verified the coordinates received.

SBU officers detained both men and seized evidence of their cooperation with Russian intelligence.

Currently, investigators have informed the defendants of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason committed by a group of persons in wartime. The detainees are being held without bail. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Earlier , the SBU exposed a pair of agents who were collecting data on the work of a defense enterprise in southern Ukraine . The female agent and her roommate were trying to obtain secret information to pass on to Russian special services.
