Su-24M crashed in Khmelnytskyi region: two pilots died
On the evening of June 16, a plane crash involving a Su-24M front-line bomber of the 7th Petro Franko Tactical Aviation Brigade occurred in the Khmelnytskyi region.
This is reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the military, at around 7:00 p.m. the aircraft crew was performing a combat mission. There was a pilot and a navigator on board.
Major Bohdan Zaharulko and Senior Lieutenant Bohdan Babenko died in the crash.
“We express our sincere condolences to the families of Major Bohdan Hryhorovych Zaharulko and Senior Lieutenant Bohdan Oleksandrovych Babenko. They defended our country until their last breath,” the message says.
Rescuers and law enforcement officers are working at the scene of the plane crash.
According to preliminary data, there are no casualties among the civilian population.
The causes and circumstances of the plane crash are being established.
