The double suicide of two Russian occupiers was confirmed a few days ago. Such cases hardly ever happen, especially when members of an occupying force take their lives simultaneously in the same incident.

In total, according to the GUR, at least 71 Russian servicemen committed suicide in 2024, and in the first half of 2025, 86 soldiers and officers took their own lives.

The most interesting point is that these are suicides occurring in the rear, yet the data from the combat zone itself is no less striking.

Currently, the number of confirmed suicides among Russian military personnel stands at 418.

Detailed statistics on suicides in the ROV units are kept by @ GloOouD on Twitter (aka He) and, according to him, the real numbers are much higher, since many suicides are not recorded and are not verified on the spot. The real picture may differ from the verified one several times, by 5 or even more times.

In general, according to verified data, the first suicide of a DOV occupant was documented on November 23, 2022, and the record number of suicides in the BD zone in January 2025 was 31!

I think that in the winter period, suicides in the ROV will increase, due to hopelessness, difficult weather conditions, depression, and demoralization. In addition, when the Russian command drives the wounded in one direction, we have no hope of evacuation – they are just abandoned to their fate.

On the other hand, you can always surrender to the SOU. But no, it’s easier to shoot yourself, blow yourself up, or stab yourself.

The Russian army is an army of suicides.
