Summary of the General Staff: The Defense Forces repelled 168 assaults by the Russian army in 24 hours

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information as of 08:00 on October 20, 2025 regarding the Russian invasion.

In total, 168 combat clashes were recorded over the past 24 hours. Over the past 24 hours, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck three areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, two UAV control points, and four enemy artillery pieces.

The enemy launched two missile strikes, four rockets, and 74 air strikes on Ukrainian units and settlements, dropping 165 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out 4,894 attacks, 93 of which were from multiple rocket launchers, and used 5,482 kamikaze drones to destroy them.

In the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, 13 clashes took place over the past day. In addition, the enemy carried out two air strikes, dropping six guided bombs, and also carried out 160 shelling of the positions of our troops and settlements, including five from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the South Slobozhansk direction, the enemy stormed the positions of our units 10 times near the settlements of Vovchansk, Tykhe, Kamyanka and in the direction of Dvorichanske and Bolohivka.

In the Kupyansk direction, four attacks by the invaders took place in a day. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions towards Peshchanye.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked six times, trying to advance near the settlements of Drobysheve, Seredne, Novoselivka, and Myrne.

In the Slavyansk direction, in the areas of Serebryanka and Yampol, the enemy attacked the positions of our troops twice.

The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Kramatorsk direction in the past day.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 24 attacks in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyny, Shcherbynivka, Toretsk, Pleshchiivka, Rusyny Yar, and Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 58 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnograd, Sukhyi Yar, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Filiya, Promin, Lysivka, Molodetske, Dachne and in the direction of Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attacked our positions 24 times in the direction of Orestopol and the areas of the settlements of Andriivka-Klevtsove, Voskresenka, Oleksandrograd, Vyshneve, Verbove, Sichneve, Vorone, Sosnivka, Novohrygorivka, and Novomykolaivka.

In the Hulyaipil direction, the enemy carried out three unsuccessful attacks in the Malynivka area.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy once attacked the positions of our defenders in the area of the settlement of Plavni.

On the Dnieper direction, the enemy tried three times in vain to approach the positions of our defenders in the direction of the Antoniv Bridge.

No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.

Our soldiers inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces and actively undermine the enemy’s offensive potential in the rear.

In total, the losses of the Russian invaders last day amounted to 890 people . Ukrainian soldiers also neutralized two tanks, 45 artillery systems, one air defense system, 398 unmanned aerial vehicles of the operational-tactical level, and 94 units of automotive equipment of the invaders.
