The next few months could be decisive for Russia’s war against Ukraine.

This was reported by The Economist, citing Lawrence Friedman, emeritus professor of military studies at King’s College London.

According to him, the main question now is whether Russia’s problems at the front and within the country really indicate that the Kremlin’s capabilities are gradually narrowing.

Friedman believes that much will depend on the summer, in particular, on whether Russia will be able to counter Ukraine’s rapid development in the field of drones.

It is also important whether Moscow is really preparing forces for a major summer offensive.

The expert notes that the Russian army is already facing serious difficulties, and there are no expected results at the front.

“The reality is that they have problems on the front line, and there are many things they simply cannot do,” Lawrence Friedman emphasized.

As previously reported, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin stated during a press conference on May 9 that the war against Ukraine was supposedly “coming to an end.” At the same time, the Russian authorities continue to demonstrate their readiness for further hostilities and put forward new ultimatums.

As a reminder, Russia is experiencing a shortage of personnel, which is even greater than in Ukraine. This was reported by the founder of the charitable organization “Reactive Mail”, military expert Pavlo Narozhnyi.
