Summer on pause: weather forecasters promise cooling and thunderstorms in Kyiv

This week, weather changes are expected in the capital: the heat will recede, and the rains will finally return.

This is reported by the Ukrhydrometeorological Center in a fresh forecast.

According to weather forecasters, the weather in Kyiv and the region will be changeable from July 15 to 19. The most noticeable changes are expected closer to the end of the week: the air temperature during the day will gradually drop by several degrees, and an atmospheric front will approach from the west, bringing precipitation.

Nights will remain warm — from +15° to +20°, but on Saturday night the temperature will drop slightly — to +11°…+16°. The daytime heat, which has lasted for several days, will begin to weaken from Thursday: the temperature will drop to +25°…+27°, and on Saturday a maximum of +24° is expected.

Special attention should be paid to Thursday – it will be a turning point in the weather week. Until this day, mostly dry weather will remain, and from Thursday short-term rains will begin, with thunderstorms possible in places. Already on Saturday, according to forecasts, precipitation will cover most districts of the capital and the region.

Forecasters call these changes an “optimistic outlook” and note that these are typical summer dynamics – with local rains and temperature fluctuations.
