Summons are being issued en masse to reservists in Belarus

In the western regions of Belarus, men are receiving mass summonses for unscheduled military service. There has been active discussion and a wave of concern on social media.

This is reported by “Social”.

On January 16, 2026, Alexander Lukashenko announced a surprise inspection of the country’s armed forces. The Belarusian Ministry of Defense stated that as part of this inspection, conscripts were being collected and sent to units of the Western Operational Command.

Deputy Military Commissar of Grodno and Grodno District Oleksandr Rovgach stated that reservists arrive at assembly points, after which they are formed and sent to military units according to the schedule.

At the same time, reports are appearing on social media about rushing to get ready for military service. Wives of reservists write that their husbands are being taken away quickly, sometimes without the opportunity to properly prepare. Cases of summonses being served to parents with many children are also being discussed.

Experts note that these gatherings may pose risks for neighboring countries – Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland, near whose borders the Western Operational Command is located.

It was previously reported that in Belarus, at the former military airfield Krychev-6, the active deployment of a military base is underway.

As a reminder, NATO plans to create an uninhabited robotic zone on the border with Russia and Belarus within the next 2 years.
