Sumy suffered a massive drone attack: high-rise buildings were damaged, there were injuries

On the evening of October 30, the Russian army launched a massive strike on Sumy, sending 10 kamikaze drones into the city in one hour. The attack damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, and injured at least four people.

This was reported by the head of the Sumy OVA, Oleg Grigorov.

At around 10:00 p.m., a series of powerful explosions were heard in Sumy. According to local authorities, enemy drones hit five civilian infrastructure facilities in the Kovpakiv district of the city.

It is noted that one of the drones hit a residential building, causing a large-scale fire. Rescuers, medics, and police were working at the scene.

The head of the Sumy OVA, Oleh Hrygorov, confirmed that some of the drones hit residential areas.

“All strikes were aimed at civilian infrastructure. There were hits on a nine-story building and a two-story residential building in different areas of the city,” said Grigorov.

According to him, the two victims — a minor girl and an elderly woman — were treated at the scene.

The number of injured people later increased to four. People from the most damaged apartments were taken away by ambulance.

At least six apartment buildings in Sumy were damaged by the blast wave. A fire broke out on the upper floors of a nine-story building directly hit by a drone.

A private house also burned down in the Kovpakiv district, and another fire broke out at a critical infrastructure facility.

“People whose homes were damaged are being provided with the necessary assistance. The enemy is not stopping, the threat of repeated attacks remains,” the head of the region emphasized.

Rescue services, police, and energy workers are working at the scene. Information about possible casualties is being clarified.

As a reminder, on the evening of October 29 , Russian troops struck a television tower in the center of Chernihiv, causing damage to the structure.

As reported, on the night of October 30 , Vinnytsia region came under enemy missile and drone attack, resulting in the death of a seven-year-old child.
