Support the Tree of Life: Kyiv will combine traditions and blood donation for Vyshyvanka Day.

On Vyshyvanka Day in Kyiv, a special blood donation event will take place, uniting Ukrainian tradition, caring, and the real opportunity to save a life. On May 21, the “Warm-Blooded” mobile blood donor hub will stop at the Ivan Honchar Museum, a national center for folk culture.

The event is being organized by the project’s initiators – FUIB and Mastercard – in partnership with the organization Blood Agents,” the Ivan Honchar Museum , and the embroidered clothing brand “Free People .

UKRNAFTA is the mobile hub’s fuel partner . Thanks to them, “Warmbloods” continues to travel across Ukraine, making blood donations accessible where they are most needed.

Symbolically, the donation will take place on this festive day. After all, one of the main symbols of Ukrainian embroidery is the tree of life . It is a sign of continuity, a connection between generations, and the strength passed on to descendants. Today, this connection is also manifested in blood donation: when one person shares their own blood, they give another the chance to prolong life.

“Warmbloods” is a 13-meter double-decker bus converted into a modern mobile blood donation center. Since its inception, the “Warmbloods” mobile hub has collected over 1,000 liters of blood , offering a chance to save thousands of wounded soldiers and civilians.

What awaits guests at the Warmbloods hub on May 21:

The first floor features an interactive exhibition about blood and its life-giving power. Admission is free.

The 2nd floor is a comfortable and safe donation area staffed by a professional medical team.

Participation in the donation is by prior registration. Donors can choose a convenient time and skip the line.

When: May 21, 9:00–13:00
Where : Kiev, st. Lavrskaya, 19

After donating, participants will receive special bonuses:
— tickets to the exhibitions “Chernobyl: Rescued Treasures of Polesia” and “Lina Kostenko in Chernobyl Expeditions” at the National Center of Folk Culture “Ivan Gonchar Museum”;

— 30% discount on embroidered shirts from the “Free People” brand .

The project invites everyone to join this important cause: share warmth, support those in need of blood, and become part of an important movement.

On Vyshyvanka Day, organizers celebrate: Ukrainian tradition is not only about patterns and songs, but also about supporting one another. Sometimes the most important act is to give someone else a chance at life!
