The suspect in the assassination of MP and former Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy has reportedly confessed to the crime.
This was reported by Radio Liberty.
It has emerged that the suspect had ties to Russia. He reportedly began contacting the enemy while trying to find his son, who was serving in the army.
According to the suspect, his son went missing in 2023 in the Bakhmut direction. While monitoring Russian social networks, he contacted representatives of the Russian Federation, who informed him of his son’s death.
During these communications, Russian representatives allegedly justified the Kremlin’s actions and blamed the Ukrainian authorities for the war.
The suspect also claimed that he lived in Lviv, where he had repeatedly seen Andriy Parubiy. He then began planning the politician’s murder, obtaining a weapon, buying a bicycle and a helmet, and purchasing a car to follow the victim.
Law enforcement officials noted that the detainee provided this information during his first interrogation. Authorities are currently verifying the accuracy of his account.
Let us recall that on August 30, public and political figure Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv.
Later, it became known that the Lviv region is searching for the shooter who killed the current deputy from the “European Solidarity” party and former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy. A photo of the alleged killer is being published on the Internet.
Later, journalists reported that MP Andriy Parubiy was shot 8 times by a man disguised as a courier.
By the way, a video of the moment of the murder of the People’s Deputy from “European Solidarity” and former Speaker of Parliament Andriy Parubiy appeared on social networks.
