Svitolina beat Bencic to reach the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Dubai.

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina (No. 9 WTA) reached the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 hard court tournament in Dubai, UAE.

In the 1/8 final match, the Ukrainian defeated the world’s 13th-ranked Belinda Bencic (Switzerland) in three sets in two hours – 4:6, 6:1, 6:3.

This was the sixth head-to-head meeting between the opponents, and Svitolina won her fourth victory in the confrontation.

In the tournament’s quarterfinals, Elina will face Croatian Antonija Ruzic (WTA No. 67), who defeated Elena Rybakina (WTA No. 3) in her match. The Kazakh tennis player withdrew in the third set due to ill health.
