Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina defeated neutral Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova to reach the semifinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto.
The newspaper “Obshchestvennoe” writes about this.
The match started out unfavorably for the Ukrainian, with Svitolina losing to Alexandrov 3-6 in the first set.
However, in the second set, Svitolina completely seized the initiative and did not give up a single game to her opponent – 6:0.
In the decisive third set, the Ukrainian tennis player again proved stronger and won with a score of 6:3.
Thus, Svitolina won the match and advanced to the semi-finals of the prestigious WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto.
