Ten Ukrainians Among the World’s Best as Svitolina Reclaims Top-10 Status

Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina climbed to seventh place in the WTA rankings as of May 18, 2026, marking her return to the world’s top 10 and confirming one of the strongest comeback runs in women’s tennis this season.

According to the updated rankings, Svitolina moved up three positions and returned to the top 10 of the world’s best tennis players.

Ukraine’s second-ranked player remains Marta Kostyuk, who ranks 15th.

Dayana Yastremska also showed significant progress—she moved up seven positions and is now in 45th place in the ranking.

The top 100 in the world ranking also include the following:

• • Yulia Starodubtseva – 54th place (+3);

• • Olexandra Oleynykova—66th place (+2);

• • Angelina Kalinina – 84th place (+9);

• • Darya Snegir – 95th place.

Veronika Podrez set a personal best, moving up to 142nd place, gaining ten positions.

Also improved their results:

• • Kateryna Zavatska – 268th place (+11);

• • Anastasia Soboleva – 295th place (+8).
