Svyrydenko and the Mindich case: the People’s Deputy reported an important detail

People’s Deputy of Ukraine Yaroslav Zheleznyak criticized the activities of the Energoatom Supervisory Board, calling it “absolutely ineffective and inactive.”
In his post, he drew attention to the fact that the legal responsibility for the formation of the supervisory board lies with the then Minister of Economy, Yulia Svyrydenko , who, according to him, actually contributed to the plans of Herman Galushchenko .
“Do you know who is legally responsible for this process? The Minister of Economy. That is, at that time, Yulia Svyridenko. This was her task and her responsibility. And she absolutely played into all of Galushchenko’s plans at that time,” Zheleznyak said.
According to the deputy, the process of forming the council was delayed:
- For a long time, its creation was blocked by Galushchenko,
- the government did not appoint members for half a year, despite the selected candidates,
- after a reminder from the G7, the supervisory board was formed in a truncated composition – 2 by 2 , where two members were dependent on Galushchenko,
- The fifth member has not yet been appointed, and now, at the request of the IMF , a council of 7 people needs to be created .
Zheleznyak added that against the backdrop of a high-profile anti-corruption investigation in the energy sector – the so-called “Mindich case” – Svyrydenko’s reaction looks formal and meaningless.
“Don’t be surprised that now Svyrydenko can’t squeeze anything more out of himself than “a government for good and against evil” after the biggest corruption revelation in the country’s history,” the deputy wrote.
He also called on the current composition of the Energoatom supervisory board to resign.
“After this, the entire Supervisory Board should resign immediately. Instead of receiving money for their inaction,” Zheleznyak concluded.
As previously reported, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office reported suspicions against 7 individuals involved in a large-scale corruption scheme at JSC NNEGC Energoatom.
As a reminder, the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the SBU, the State Border Guard Service of the National Police, and the State Border Guard Service, exposed a criminal group that organized the illegal transportation of conscripts across the state border and facilitated the desertion of servicemen for monetary reward.
