Sweden has provided an additional €63.8 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, increasing its total contribution to €203 million.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The funds came through the Swedish International Development Agency.

The ministry noted that thanks to this assistance, Ukraine was able to purchase equipment as part of a project to create distributed generation in one of the regions that is currently suffering the most from electricity shortages.

In addition, with Swedish funding, critical equipment was purchased for NPC Ukrenergo and distribution system operators in Kherson, Zaporizhia, and Chernihiv regions.

According to the Ministry of Energy, Sweden is currently the second largest donor to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine after Germany. At the same time, Germany recently made the largest one-time transfer since the Fund’s inception – 160 million euros.

As previously reported, the European Union transferred 2.3 billion euros to Ukraine as part of the sixth regular tranche under the Ukraine Facility program.

Recall, Norway approved an aid package for Ukraine for 2026 in the amount of $8.2 billion.
