The Swedish government has announced a new aid package for 2026 worth around 240 million Swedish kronor.

This is stated on the government website.

In particular, 150 million Swedish kronor will be transferred to the Ukrainian Red Cross. The funds will be used for humanitarian aid.

As noted, the support will largely focus on the needs of children. Sweden wants to provide schoolchildren with meals in educational institutions close to the front lines, as well as promote reforms in family care for children and support their mental health.

The government noted that life during war has serious consequences for the safety and health of children.

“Today’s support package is a smart investment in Ukraine’s future generation. It combines urgent humanitarian assistance through the Ukrainian Red Cross with strategic contributions to the World Food Programme (WFP), UNICEF, OperationAid and Gen.Ukrainian to help children enjoy a better everyday life,” said Swedish Minister Benjamin Dusa.

It is separately noted that the humanitarian situation in Ukraine remains “extremely difficult.” This applies not only to frontline communities, but also to large cities.

“The UN estimates that more than 10.8 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance,” the Swedish government press service added.

Earlier it became known that the Swedish government is allocating another 56 million euros to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund . The funds will be used to restore damaged infrastructure and strengthen the resilience of the energy system.

Recall, on February 19, the Swedish government approved the 21st package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 12.9 billion kronor , which is about 1.2 billion euros.
