The decisive third round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup gets underway with simultaneous Group B matches as Switzerland faces Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina take on Qatar in the battle for places in the knockout stage.
Both games will kick off at 22:00 Kyiv time on June 24. Switzerland and Canada will play at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada. Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Qatar will be played at Lumen Field in Seattle, USA.
Canada and Switzerland lead Group B with 4 points each after two rounds. Both teams have guaranteed themselves a place in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup. A head-to-head match in Vancouver will determine the group winner. In the event of a draw, Canada will retain first place thanks to the better goal difference (+6 vs. +3 in Switzerland).
The match between the national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar in the 3rd round of Group B is a battle for survival at the 2026 World Cup. Both teams have scored only 1 point. Therefore, a draw will almost certainly deprive both teams of the chance to reach the playoffs even due to the ranking of the best third teams. So they only need a victory.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is considered the favorite of the match. Qatar was very disappointed with a crushing defeat to Canada—0: 6. In addition, two important players of the Qatar national team were disqualified due to red cards in the last round—defender Homam Ahmed and midfielder Assim Madibo.
