Switzerland has decided to provide Ukraine with an aid package that includes the supply of necessary energy equipment.
Thisis stated on the government website.
It is expected that Swiss companies will soon deliver high-performance generators and power modules to Ukraine.
It is known that 18 electrical modules from Switzerland operate on natural gas. The equipment will be used in four cities whose energy supply has been most affected. It will help to start electricity production in Ukraine as soon as possible.
Up to 80 more diesel generators of various capacities will be received by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development. The agency will deploy the equipment “according to urgency.”
At the same time, additional generators and mobile heating units will be provided to the State Emergency Service.
The Federal Council has already approved the use of 32 million Swiss francs for the delivery and installation of energy equipment.
“Due to intensive Russian attacks on civilian energy infrastructure, millions of people in Ukraine have been left without electricity – and this in extremely low temperatures,” the Swiss government stressed.
Sweden recently announced a new energy support package for Ukraine worth 1 billion Swedish kronor, which is almost 94 million euros.
The Netherlands has previously decided to increase the total amount of aid aimed at supporting Ukraine’s energy sector. The country plans to allocate an additional 35 million euros.
