Syrsky dismissed the commanders of two corps due to loss of positions – media

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has removed the commanders of two corps from their posts.

This was reported by “Ukrainska Pravda” with reference to sources in the Defense Forces.

In particular, this concerns the dismissal of the heads of the 17th and 20th army corps – Volodymyr Silenko and Maksym Kitugin.

According to the interlocutors of “UP”, both military personnel were dismissed about a week or two ago due to the loss of positions in their area of responsibility.

As is known, the 17th Corps is located in the Zaporizhia region, where the Russians managed to occupy Kamianske and part of the village of Plavni on the banks of the Dnieper. In contrast, the 20th Corps is located on the border of the Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, where the Russians were successful in crossing the regional borders.

The publication notes that these are the first personnel changes since the transition to a corps-based management model.

As a reminder, the Russian occupation army has advanced on some sections of the front in the Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
