Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that today the activities of the Ukrainian army have two key components – conducting combat operations and high-quality training of personnel.
This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Telegram channel.
Syrsky stressed that the level of training directly affects the preservation of the lives and health of military personnel. According to him, during the year, a significant step forward was made in this direction.
In particular, the number of instructors in training centers was increased by 13%. Basic combined arms training was also deployed on the basis of combat brigades, and its duration and program were brought into line with the requirements of modern warfare.
At the same time, the commander-in-chief acknowledged existing problems. According to him, the potential of training centers is not being fully utilized, and the quality of basic training in many brigades needs to be improved. Syrsky stressed the need to attract more professional instructors with real combat experience.
He emphasized that the command’s principled position is to focus not only on quantitative, but primarily on qualitative indicators of training.
Following the results of the monthly training meeting, it was decided to conduct basic combined arms training in the brigade rear areas only in the volumes necessary for high-quality training, and with mandatory compliance with safety measures. The General Staff will additionally verify the implementation of this task.
The meeting also demonstrated benchmark examples of organizing basic training, which other units should follow. Syrsky praised the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade for its high standards of training, modern training methods, and developed material and technical base.
Separately, they discussed the work of the School of Instructors in the Land Forces, which was created with the support of the “Return Alive” charitable foundation. According to Syrsky, the school is gradually gaining capacity, but the problem of transferring experienced specialists to instructor positions remains relevant for both the new school and existing training centers.
The command is also working on the issue of additional financial incentives for instructors in combat brigades.
It was previously reported that the Russian army loses an average of 1,000-1,100 servicemen every day in the war against Ukraine, and the number of deaths in the Russian Federation is approximately six times higher than in the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
