Syrsky spoke about the real losses of the Russian army

The Russian army loses an average of 1,000-1,100 servicemen every day in the war against Ukraine, and the number of deaths in the Russian Federation is approximately six times higher than in the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky.

In an interview with Channel 24, he noted that after the Ukrainian Armed Forces switched to a corps system, losses of Russian troops increased, and the enemy’s manning problems only intensified.

According to Syrsky, Russia claimed to have fulfilled the mobilization plan by 100% – it was about 406 thousand people. At the same time, the losses of the Russian army during the same period exceeded 410 thousand, which effectively offset any increase in the group.

The Commander-in-Chief noted that at the beginning of 2025, the number of Russian troops increased by 7-9 thousand people per month, but now there is no such increase. Over the past six months, the number of Russian troops has been stable at the level of 710-711 thousand people.

Syrsky also confirmed the estimates of significant Russian losses, which even Russian war bloggers claim. According to their calculations, the difference between the total number of people involved in the war and the actual number of troops on the front is about 1.5 million people.

He added that Russia planned to form 14 new divisions this year, but was only able to create seven. Two marine divisions actually consist of one regiment, and the formation of seven more brigades has been postponed until next year.

According to the commander-in-chief, the Russian command is forced to transfer personnel from newly created units directly to combat units, which indicates an acute shortage of manpower.

Answering a question about the ratio of losses, Syrsky confirmed that it was about the dead: the Russian army is losing approximately six times more than the Ukrainian one.

It was previously reported that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin ordered his troops to continue their offensive in the Zaporizhia region and move towards Zaporizhia, despite talk of peace negotiations.

We remind you that on the night of December 28, units of the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine destroyed enemy targets in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
