Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky visited military command bodies and military units performing tasks within the framework of the defensive operation in the Donetsk region.
He reported this on his Telegram channel.
Syrsky visited the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” and listened to a report by Brigadier General Denys Prokopenko and commanders of military units.
“We coordinated further actions and interaction in the designated areas of responsibility. We identified priority tasks and gave the necessary orders to resolve problematic issues,” the Commander-in-Chief noted.
Oleksandr Syrsky presented the servicemen with honorary awards – the breastplates “Cross of the Brave”, “Cross of Military Honor”, “Golden Cross” and “For Conscientious Service”. The awards were received by soldiers who showed courage and distinguished themselves while performing combat missions.
Syrsky also worked in the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces and the 9th Army Corps.
“We discussed with the commanders the situation in the areas of responsibility, changes in the nature of the actions of the Russian occupation forces, and ways to strengthen support for our units,” Syrsky noted.
According to him, the enemy is trying to improve its tactical position every day, but, despite its superiority in manpower and equipment, is suffering significant losses.
Separately, the Commander-in-Chief held a meeting with the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Major Robert Brody.
“The experience of combat operations once again confirms: it is possible to effectively counter the enemy in the current conditions only through a combination of active defense, preemptive decisions, and defeating the enemy at operational-tactical depth using Middle Strike,” Syrsky added.
He emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers operate in close cooperation, quickly adapt to changing situations, and reduce the time from making a decision to its implementation on the battlefield.
Previously, “Pryamiy” reported that the Defense Forces continue to maintain the initiative in certain sections of the front and, as a result of active actions in May, liberated almost 100 square kilometers more territory than they lost.
Also, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a meeting at which he raised the issue of developing “small air defense” and increasing its effectiveness.
