Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that the demobilization of certain categories of servicemen could begin as early as this fall. At the same time, he emphasized that this depends on a number of factors, so there is currently no certainty that the corresponding decision will be implemented.

Syrsky reported this in an interview with TSN.

According to him, the issue of demobilization is complex and requires a balanced approach, taking into account all possible risks.

The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the main challenge is to maintain the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after the release of some servicemen.

This is primarily about the fighters who have been fighting since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. According to Syrsky, they are the most experienced and combat-ready soldiers.

An equally important issue remains ensuring adequate personnel replenishment — trained military personnel who will be able to replace those who will be demobilized.

In addition, Syrsky noted that the issue of social justice is also being discussed, but did not specify what exactly is meant.

“I see that this is realistic, it’s just that there are many limitations that relate to our mobilization capabilities. And this must be taken into account – how much we can mobilize to provide for certain categories that will be released. Therefore, there will be certain limitations here,” the commander-in-chief said.

It was previously reported that Oleksandr Syrskyi approved a plan for the development of the sergeant corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine until the end of 2027. The initiative provides for expanding the powers of sergeants, improving the career growth system, developing training, and raising social standards of military service.
