Taisiya Onofriychuk won Ukraine’s first gold medal at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in 13 years.
Taisiya Onofriychuk, leader of the Ukrainian rhythmic gymnastics team, became the 2026 World Champion in the hoop final.
The Ukrainian received 30.700 points for her performance, ahead of Italian Sofia Rafaeli (30.500) and German representative Daria Varfolomeev (30.400).
This is Onofriychuk’s first gold medal at the World Championships and Ukraine’s first victory at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships since 2013, when Anna Rizadinova won the hoop event.
Earlier at the current World Championships, Onofriychuk placed fourth in the individual all-around. The Ukrainian now has another final to compete in – the clubs event.
