Taras Kachka will work as the representative of Ukraine to the European Union in Brussels and will simultaneously perform the duties of the Trade Representative of Ukraine.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the head of state, one of Kachka’s main tasks will be further work on negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

“We are waiting for a decision on four more clusters. I believe that Taras will be able to implement this most effectively at the Ukrainian Mission to the EU in Brussels. Given his high efficiency and experience in trade policy, he will also combine this work with performing the functions of Ukraine’s trade representative within the framework of our bilateral trade agreements with key partners,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.

The President noted that during the conversation with Kachka, they discussed the further course of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

“We need to develop more sectoral, detailed work to go through the already open clusters in negotiations with the European Union on Ukraine’s accession and focus on communication with both EU institutions and the governments of member states to open the next clusters,” the head of state emphasized.

Zelensky added that government officials and the diplomatic team of the President’s Office will support Kachka in fulfilling the assigned tasks.
