Ukrainian para-athlete Taras Rad won a gold medal in the sitting class parabiathlon at the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games . This is Ukraine’s first medal at the Games and also its first gold medal.

This is the Ukrainian’s second Paralympic gold medal. At the previous Games, the 2022 Winter Paralympics in Beijing , he won the 12.5km cross-country skiing championship.
