US President Donald Trump has announced his intention to impose a single tariff of 10-15% on goods imported into the United States from more than 150 countries.

He stated this on the air of the Real America’s Voice TV channel, Business Standard reports.

“We’ll impose the same tariff on the remaining 150 countries, it’ll probably be 10-15%,” Trump said in response to a question about potential tariff pressure on African states.

At the same time, the head of the White House noted that “the final decision has not yet been made,” but his team is already “very close” to reaching trade agreements with the European Union and India.

Commenting on relations with Canada, Trump spoke sharply about its trade policy: “The Canadians have offended us very seriously by imposing tariffs of 400% on American farmers.”

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of new 30% tariffs on goods from the European Union and Mexico . The new rates will take effect on August 1, unless the partners agree to new trade terms. This is part of the White House’s broader economic strategy, which has already affected more than 25 countries.

As reported, Trump announced the introduction of a new 35 percent tariff on imports of goods from Canada . The new tariffs will take effect on August 1. In addition, Washington plans to introduce general tariffs of 15% or 20% for most other trading partners.
