Temperatures are above normal: what weather to expect in February

Meteorologists predict that in February, air temperatures may be above normal in some Ukrainian regions.

This is stated on the website of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center.

The average monthly temperature in Ukraine is expected to range from freezing to warm — -4°C…+2°C.

According to the center, this temperature in the western, northern, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Poltava regions corresponds to the norm, however, in the remaining regions it is 1.5°C above normal.

“Monthly precipitation is expected to be 29-67 mm, in the Carpathians in places 74-83 mm, which is within normal limits (80-120%),” the hydrometeorological center reported.

Climatic characteristics of February

It is noted that the average monthly temperature is 0°C…-6°C, while in the Odessa and Transcarpathian regions and in Crimea it is the warmest — 1°C…4°C.

The absolute minimum of the last month of winter was -36.1°C, in Volyn, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv and Luhansk regions in some places – up to 39°C.

At the same time, the absolute maximum is 12.3°C – 21.9°C, in Odessa and Vinnytsia regions and in Crimea in places up to 24.4°C.
