Tens of billions of hryvnias: how much will road repairs cost Ukraine?

The head of the State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development, Serhiy Sukhomlyn, said that about 50 billion hryvnias are needed to repair roads in Ukraine.
This was reported by “Suspilne”.
According to Sukhomlyn, the amount includes current and pothole repairs of roads of various importance. In particular, 12-14 billion hryvnias are needed to improve roads of international importance alone.
In Ukraine, more than 10 million square meters of roads need repair. Of these, 150,000 are planned to be repaired by the end of March.
As the official said, due to the frost, the crews first repaired the roads using cold asphalt, but now they have switched to hot asphalt.
At the same time, warranty repairs of roads are underway in some regions. In total, there are guarantees for the repair of 83 roads in 13 regions.
Previously, Sukhomlyn stated that for two years in a row the state has not allocated funds for major road repairs .
