On the night of June 11, the United States continued its military operation against Iran and launched a new series of strikes on facilities that, according to the American side, are related to the country’s defense infrastructure.

The US Central Command reported that the operation is being carried out on the orders of President Donald Trump in response to Tehran’s actions, which Washington calls a threat to American forces and allies in the region.

“This is a proportionate response to ongoing aggression by Iran,” CENTCOM said.

According to international media reports, explosions were heard in several areas of Iran. In particular, there were reports of air defense forces and strikes on facilities in the south of the country. Possible targets include radar systems, air defense elements, and infrastructure related to the use of drones.

Amid the new strikes, tensions are also rising around diplomatic talks. Western media outlets are reporting that recent attempts by mediators to make progress in talks between the parties have so far failed.

Official Tehran did not comment in detail on the extent of the damage at the time of publication. At the same time, Iranian media reported explosions near strategic sites in the southern regions of the country.

The escalation between the US and Iran has been going on for several days. Analysts do not rule out that in the absence of diplomatic agreements, the parties may move to a new stage of confrontation.

As reported the day before, the US launched new strikes on Iranian territory after an Iranian drone shot down an American AH-64 Apache attack helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz.
