“Territorial integrity is not negotiable”: UN position on Ukraine

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that any plan to end the war in Ukraine must fully comply with UN resolutions and guarantee respect for the territorial integrity of our state. He recalled that the General Assembly has already adopted a number of documents that clearly define the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine.

This is reported by The Guardian with reference to the AFP agency.

Guterres emphasized that the UN has no other conditions for a peaceful settlement than those set out in these resolutions.

He also explained that his words refer to information that the media has published in recent days regarding a possible “US peace plan.” According to him, no country or international organization has submitted an official document with such a plan to the UN. Guterres emphasized that rumors or leaks in the media cannot replace real proposals, and any initiative to resolve the war must be based on the principle of respect for Ukrainian sovereignty.

Earlier it was reported that US President Donald Trump said that he would soon introduce new “very strong” sanctions against Russia.

Recall that in the new American “peace plan” for Ukraine, journalists noticed wording that looks as if the text was first written in Russian.
