Terrorist attack in Kharkiv: SBU detained Russian agents
In Kharkiv, the SBU counterintelligence and the National Police prevented a second terrorist attack that could have had tragic consequences. Two people recruited by Russian special services to blow up a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were detained in the city.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
The incident occurred on June 14: an explosion occurred near the entrance of a residential building, where a Ukrainian serviceman was lured under the pretext of meeting a girl he supposedly knew. An improvised explosive device equipped with metal elements to enhance the damage was planted there.
As a result of the explosion, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received multiple shrapnel wounds. He was hospitalized – now his life is not in danger, he is in stable condition.
According to the investigation, Russian handlers remotely recruited two residents of Kharkiv — both unemployed, one of whom had previously been convicted of theft. The attackers were looking for “easy money” in Telegram channels, where they fell under the influence of enemy special services.
Under Russian guidance, they independently manufactured explosives and installed a mobile phone in them to remotely detonate them. A hidden camera was installed near the site of the bomb to record the target’s arrival.
When the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier arrived at the location, Russian special forces activated the device. Immediately after the attack, the local perpetrators tried to destroy the evidence, but were promptly detained at their place of residence.
They have been charged under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including committing a terrorist act and illegally manufacturing and storing explosives. The court has already chosen a preventive measure for both of them – detention without bail. The traitors face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine together with the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Saltiv District Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv.
By the way, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police detained an FSB agent – a 33-year-old mobilized man who committed arson and, on the orders of the enemy, was engaged in arson and preparing a murder in Kyiv.
As a reminder, the military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a “mole” recruited by the Russian military intelligence (GRU). The 33-year-old serviceman was preparing an enemy attack on Ukrainian anti-ship complexes “Neptune”.
As reported, within the ranks of the Defense Forces, the Security Service exposed a serviceman who was working for Russian special services and sharing information about fellow soldiers with the enemy.
