Two patrol police officers in Kyiv were reported suspicious due to their actions during the April 18 terrorist attack.
This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the investigation, patrol officers arrived at a call about a shooting and saw the wounded, including a child, a man, and a woman.
Despite the presence of service weapons and legal grounds for their use, law enforcement officers left the scene and did not stop the attacker.
As a result, the armed man continued to move through the city and opened fire on passersby.
Six people died in Kyiv between 4:35 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Another injured person later died in hospital, making him the seventh victim.
Law enforcement officers are accused of official negligence, which led to serious consequences.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
Earlier it was reported that an unknown person opened fire on people in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv . Subsequently, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that a child was injured as a result of the shooting in the capital, and is currently hospitalized.
